|
The academy aims to provide the youngest of tennis players showing aptitude and commitment to the sport the opportunity to maximise their future potential.
The academy is fully inclusive and aims to provide a collaborative approach to its delivery. A large emphasis is based on the working relationship between player, parent and coach.
How?
We aim to provide a training environment that puts a large emphasis on developing the foundations of a tennis player. Developing physical skills and sound simple technique from day one is of key importance to allow the players to continually grow and develop. This saves the process of having to undo bad techniques as player’s age which will only restrict their development.
The coaching methods we use allow players to develop the skills to ‘play the game’ and begin competing from the youngest age. This allows players exposure to the sport and begin exploring the tactical and mental skills required in tennis.
Each player identified and committed to The Academy will have a weekly programme put in place and receive an individual annual plan with specific goals and objectives agreed by player, parent and coach. This will allow us to maximise and review player development.

Why?
Developing young talent is a mix of commitment, coaching, competing and the right training environment. In order to maximise development, young talent needs to train and grow together. However this can often be difficult and involves large amounts of travelling to find children of a similar age and ability. We aim through our large schools programme to bring together young talent in local areas providing convenient high quality training.
The delivery of consistent coaching incorporating the correct foundations for future development of young tennis players is often difficult to find. The basic fundamentals are often over looked and the most highly skilled coaches are often not found in Mini Tennis (under 10’s).
We use these highly qualified and skilled coaches in our academy ensuring the correct fundamentals are in place building players for the future!
